Remote diagnostics for FLOWSKID’s
Currently when a Flow Metering Skid is delivered, it has the minimum diagnostic parameters connected to the SCADA system. The rest of the diagnostics are left and only considered reactively when a problem arises. This is referred to as stranded diagnostics. With many devices from different suppliers being installed on a normal skid there is a need to have a flexible device to connect to all this hardware. The TDC fits this need perfectly and allows us to connect to the hardware that provides the stranded diagnostics via MODBUS. By using the TDC from SICK, we can supplement the standard connections to increase the amount of diagnostics in a separate secure, cloud-based system. The customer then has more of an insight into the potential problems that may arise in their system. It also gives SICK service personnel access to the diagnostics to better understand and help to plan preventative measures. The TDC has many advantages, one being the scalability of the device. No matter the size or complexity of the FLOWSKID, the TDC can be scaled accordingly.
